Another level, another devil? 😈✨
This week, I’ve been running Power Map sessions for my Awaken community and I want to share with you some of the key learning from those sessions over the coming weeks.
Firstly: Most leadership development fails because it’s too shallow and too short.
Many leadership programmes aim for behaviour change.
Speak up more. Delegate better. Set boundaries. But they rarely go below the surface – ok, there might be some good stuff on self-limiting beliefs, impostor syndrome and the inner critic, which are ‘useful’.
But insight on its own changes nothing.
If your nervous system believes that being liked keeps you safe, you will override your own boundaries – even despite your best intentions.
If your sense of belonging comes from being needed, you will keep rescuing.
If busyness equals worth, strategic thinking will always lose out to the instant dopamine hit of the immediate fix.
This is why two-day courses feel inspiring and change very little.
Until safety and belonging are re-anchored, you’ll always revert to the behaviour you so desperately want to change.
That is not a motivation problem or a competence problem. It is a biology issue.
But it’s a fixable biology issue.
P.S. Awaken is live now – and it’s £97 for a whole lot of identity-shifting wisdom.
